My Raspberry Pi Player is showing a black screen

  1. Restart the player

    1. To do this remove the plug from the wall socket and count to 10

    2. Once this is complete, replace the plug into the wall socket

  2. Checking your TV/Monitors HDMI settings

    1. Let's confirm that we are connected to the correct input port

    2. If there is still no picture let's confirm that the HDMI input is connected to the connection labeled “HDMI ARC” [ignore this if there is no ARC option]

    3. If there continues to be no picture, restart the player with the HDMI cord plugged into the HDMI ARC jack on your screen and the TV on

  3. Checking your connection [wifi]

    1. Confirm the player is connected to the proper wifi. Do this by clicking the “configure wifi” button on the device. Confirm that it is indeed connected and is connected to the correct network

    2. Once this is done attempt to enter the player's pin again. If this does not work reach out to your internet provider

  4. Checking your connection [Ethernet]

    1. Lets first confirm that while the ethernet is connected and the player is powered on that we are seeing green and yellow lights on the backside of the player

    2. If this is the case and you are still seeing no connection attempt to connect the SAME ethernet cable to another device such as a laptop. At this point we want to prove that the connection is working

    3. If the connection is working but the player is not accepting the connection we replace

    4. If this still does not work we involve the dev team to explore/call (chances are there is a restriction on the network. If it is possible confirm with their network team first)
